Pushing from the outside and the inside will yield better results, than doing only one or the other. Voting is not the end all, be all. And the past 40 years has shown that voting has been failing us more and more. I still participate for the progressives, but I'm not deluded.
Which maybe makes you cynical, but not an outright tankie or freeganist. I think political engagement outside of voting is indeed the responsible thing to do, but it’s up to each of us to decide if the system can be bent to our policy goals with a convincing enough argument.
