It’s a shelter-in-place that’s not backed up by penalty of law. It’s a shelter-in-place backed up with a “pretty-please?”

Would you rather have martial law? Or a fine? The states that have issued shelter in place can’t hand out fines because there is no way to prove where your going or coming from. So really it’s up to the people to listen and follow the directives.

I’d like people to have an incentive to follow the law even if they aren’t completely apprised of the consequences, which yes, translates to penalties. Fines would be the most preferable, since God knows I don’t want to give the Utah jail system anything more to worry about!

I see what your saying. However there is no actual way to enforce it outside of martial law. Which will not happen this is the only way. He can speak all he wants if you don’t listen and follow the directives we never get through this. The choice is actually ours.

Other states and counties have been able to enforce theirs without marshaling the National Guard or checkpoints on street corners. It can be done. But apparently not in Utah.

And it is being done. If you just listen to what he said then there is no need to take it any further. How hard is it to just stay the fuck home. What’s the problem with it? You want people being arrested? Just stay home and stay safe. That’s all it’s that easy

Unfortunately for me, my choice of profession (Home Depot) leaves me unable to do so. Essential business even under the circumstances I would prefer. I get to go to work every day and wonder exactly which customer is going to have the bullet with my name on it.
