Now, to clarify—a free and democratic Hong Kong is absolutely worth fighting for and bringing international attention to. Expecting a company that has just doubled its presence in China over a year to not do things to continue doing business in China is completely bananas.
Corporations are in the business of making money. They will do whatever they have to in order to do that. If you want another government to stop being totalitarian dickweasels—don’t call a corporation, call your government. A coherent foreign policy can effect change overseas.
Corporations, for all their 21st Century “wokeness”, will forever and always prize market share over morality—even Blizzard. It takes a government to be the moral force in the world. And the fact that ours isn’t right now IS WHAT WE HAVE ALL BEEN YELLING ABOUT.
