Best I can figure? Non-political innocence. Fred Rogers Effect. SOMETHING. I don’t even get it myself. There’s just something sweet and appealing about him that people gravitate towards. It’s why I don’t cross the streams and let people know who writes him—because I’m awful.
I’m flawed. I’m political to hell. I’m mired in the world and I’m mad as hell about it. And so many of us are, seeing a big green moron talk about how much he loves and supports you despite not completely understanding what you do is something that peoples’ souls somehow need?
