Without spoilers, the group attempted a fight that was beyond them. Bad rolls, bad timing, and one desperation play later, a popular character is dead. Cue self-entitled fandom rage.
*shrug* No DM enjoys seeing a party fail. But every DM must be prepared to murder anyone at the table. Just the way it is.
