Disappointed that @linuxfoundation reinvents @opencollect when it could easily join forces.https://twitter.com/linuxfoundation/status/1105603331463016449 …
I agree that collaboration and convergence is something everyone benefits from. But, at the same time, I don't think retroactively applying a more narrowly defined goal, and a different set of rules would go over well.

That all said, if
@opencollect is basically just learning about this effort today, that seems silly. Doesn't seem like a space where anyone benefits from a David vs Goliath fight. -
It looks like that to me. Also let's not forget we also have
@liberapay . Do we require these 3 platforms in the open source space? - 2 more replies

I love what OC does but CB does more than just funding, "summer of code as a service" etc and is built to deal with a lot of the issues we ran into, my worry about OC is that 1) VC funded 2) not fiscally patreon style sustainablehttps://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1uNDoafJyI50o128tjV2HjJGrf8l4bGOorJdSL8qgPyk/edit#gid=0 …

These are valid points I don't have much information about, but are sensible. I hope
@opencollect can give us more context. - 2 more replies
