I wanted to be a writer and was very interested in George Orwell's "1984" because I was five in 1984. I started writing stories about evil worlds. Now I do that for a living but they shelve it under "non-fiction"

Only a man would ask that question. Girls born in the 1950s never considered a career at that age. We all expected to be stay-at-home moms. In later years, we dared to dream of becoming an airline stewardess (basically a waitress.) My university education saved me.

Speak for yourself, my mom was born in ‘49 and never thought she’d ever get to stay at home without a lucrative career, same for her sisters born in ‘47 and ‘45. All 3 graduated college and worked for a living, so did my grandmother. Best examples a girl born in ‘81 could get.
