I actually got a teaching job by doing this very thing. During the interview, the dean asked me, "How soon can you be ready?" "How soon do you need me?" "How about now?" We walked down the hall to a classroom, where he introduced me and said I would teach part of the class.

I proceeded to teach an hour-long lecture off the top of my head, about how to get your foot in the door of the gaming industry and then keep it there. By the time I opened the class to Q&A, the dean had my hiring paperwork in hand.
