You forgot to mention US war crimes such as Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Churchill's Bengal famine, and the Holocaust even - amongst countless others. Now, why would that be? #QwhiteInterestinghttps://twitter.com/TeubenRoald/status/979471842066001926 …

Tweets can only be so long. I used examples of militaries entering foreign countries as a parallel to US in Middle East. Germany systematically murdering its own (Jewish) citizens is more complex. Hope you understand. I don't have an agenda, (but I think you might.)

Perhaps you're not aware of this, but the Holocaust was not limited to Germany's own borders or citizens - and there are several examples you could have used that do not draw upon red-mongering or orientalism.

The chaos of war gives men the opportunity to abuse their power to get what they want - money, sex, blood. Morals erode and people do what they can get away with. This is a comment on the nature of the individual. This transcends any politics.

Yes, and mine was not a comment on this point of view of yours, which I partly agree with, but rather the examples being used to draw the parallel.

OK fair I could have used a lot of different examples... thanks for the discussion. If you want to think more about human nature, a good quote to digest is by Aleskandr Solzhenitsyn: "Gradually it was disclosed to me that the line separating good and evil passes..." look it up!
