People complain that utilitarianism is emotionally grueling (bc you always know you could be doing more) But there's a flip side. Non-utilitarians often feel morally obliged to feel guilt/angst at bad things happening in the world; utilitarians are like "Nah, that's not helpful"

Look, if your anecdotal experience is different, it's fine to say that. But if your point is simply "We don't yet have a large rigorous study supporting your impression" then that's an extremely general objection one could make to most things, and unhelpful.

I fear at this point you're just trying to troll, but in case not: Nearly all observations people make about how they think the world works are not "data-driven," and that should be your default assumption unless stated otherwise.

There's no such thing as "just trying to troll." People have said that to dismiss Socrates and Diogenes. The sharpest thinkers are the trolls. Trolls break false, rigid mental frameworks and expand consciousness. They are the gadflies that reveal bad thinking.
