Already a favourite bar-room topic in Silicon Valley, in 2018 we’ll also see much more public discussion in the UK about the Singularity - a hazy future state where AI learns to build smarter AI. Will it happen? When? Can it be stopped, etc.
I mocked singularity on the internet, and was called a 'biocon' by an avid believer in Uploading (I guess it's like 'neocon' but related to biological people? Who knows).
