The CDC is saying to no longer use PCR for COVID. The test based in a theoretical sequencing of a theoretical virus. The tool whose inventor said was never to be used for diagnostic purposes. The test that was diagnostically and scientifically meaningless but changed the world.
They are only ending the EUA (on 12/31/21) for one specific CDC test, not for PCR tests in general. There is a lot of confusion about it, for understandable reason. I wrote it up to clarify and also look at the context in which it's being done.https://tessa.substack.com/p/cdc-pcr
