I've always had strong feelings against fanaticism. I've had them because fanaticism is hurtful and destructive, and typically masks itself as righteousness, no pun intended. I have not changed my mind. I do not accept fanaticism as valid.
I oppose all fanaticism because the only way one can defeat tyranny is by being grounded and doing it with love and even-headedness. Otherwise today's fighter against tyranny quickly turns into tomorrow's tyrant. History has played out this way again and again.
