What a difference the social circle makes. There is a very narrow demographic of gentle, educated, zooming people who have been listening to the abusive narrator for a year and got convinced. The rest of the population has seemingly long moved on toward the old normal.

The media is desperately trying to create an illusion of a conforming majority, something that does not exist. Meanwhile in real life, in my own experience, at any shop or medical office, employees' masks are under the chin if they can, and I don't blame them!!
