Another thought to consider. Historically, genetically modified organisms have been patented and monetized by corporate owners. So, is genetic modification of people (presented as medicine for emotional purposes) the first, baby step toward ownership, a few generations from now?
Importantly, if genetic modification of people is used genuinely as medicine, in rare cases where it's really needed, i.e. in patients with rare illnesses, it is not really a moneymaker, and not a pathway to corporate ownership. So they need SCALE...

And if you think that corporate ownership of people is impossible, I would like to remind you that a year ago, it was impossible, IMPOSSIBLE to imagine sinfulness of human face, vaccine passports, and all sorts of really weird things that have been unrolled in the past year.

Well yes. Of course, de facto control has been around for quite a while. But I fear that the way it is going, corporate moguls are aiming for actual ownership, which would require some adjustment of perception but after 2020, nothing is impossible...
I've been curious about that for a while. If mRNA is intellectual property that modifies/instructs a person's DNA to produce a protein, wouldn't the person receiving it be a derivative work and property of that company? If true, it opens up an industrial size can of worms.
