While the plans that the aspiring owners of everything on earth have for Western countries are pretty crappy, their vision for the developing world and especially Africa is blatantly colonial. My heart bleeds for all of this. And seriously academics need to wake up.
It's not just a random display of greed. And it's not an inevitable trend of any sort. It's a plan involving a lot of money and logistics, based on the insane idea of turning the biological world into a tech platform and monetizing the hell out of it.
