Years ago, I noticed that a lot of neutral & personal topics that people totally don't care to argue about in other cultures, are "hot buttons" in America (even the position of the toilet seat). Now I understand why. It creates "emotional events," which can be used for commerce.
Which is to say, if pandemic hot topics (masks, etc.) weren't artificially weaponized, people would be making personal choices as they see fit, and there would be peace. But peace is a bad condition for the billionaires trying to pull off a market scam.
