This is really good! And you are right! Throughout history, under a wide range of social ideological systems, envy and a sense of inner dissatisfaction often get disguised as ideological or moral righteousness. I have invented a name for it, "the dictatorship of the unhealed."
And in each case, the devil is in the detail. There are two sides, both are human, both desire dignity, and if the focus in each situation were on doing the right thing and not on creating a viral tweet, life would be much different. As is, the society encourages shouting.
