Destroying traditional education (and printed books) and replacing it with an educational system centered around tech profits, data mining and a tight control of the information flow has been a long-standing goal of tech billionaires lobby. Are we blind?
No parent is going to send kids to schools where they can be kicked out or sent to detention for being human. Schools will become impoverished. They will either close or become dependent on Google $$. Mission accomplished. Again, are we blind? This is not a reaction to anything.
There are many ways to interpret the current situation but what I see is making traditional education so totally unbearable that the system will crumble without the "generosity" from our usual saviors, Schmidt, Gates, and Bezos.
