The dilemma is that the American culture has never been particularly keen on inquisitive conversations but in the past, there were islands. Now, it's a nightmare of robotalk. For real, take my word for it. You can't say anything original without disarming it with "safe" cliches.

This intolerance is very obviously a product of corporate and political psychological manipulation,. Somebody somewhere is fearing that we the people will figure out what's going on, and they are keeping it on our toes, pale with stress, ready to go at each other.

And it's not good. So I am debating how to work toward helping my fellow citizens overcome fear--in an environment where very powerful and evil forces with lots of money and influence are working toward the opposite, so that we all stay stressed, blindfolded, and angry.
