I'd like to forewarn those cheering the disruption of the social order, vs. dialogue-based improvement. This is very much a trap. The change we're observing is driven by very powerful corporate interests, not by "the people." It is obvious on both sensory and analytical levels.

Up until now, it's been the U.S. doing it onto others. I've lived through a "beautiful liberation" back in Moscow, which really was Western multinationals grabbing a market share and, successfully so, turning my generation into consumers of Western values, I mean, products.

But what's happening now in the land I grew to love deeply is more sinister. While we're all focused of individual disruptions of life, a large scale disruption is happening, and it is not a good kind. It hurts my heart because I know how it ends, unless we wake up to our senses.

What we owe to the future generations is setting aside the gossip, ceasing to fight about artificially inflated topics, and addressing the elephant in the room--that if we don't wake up to our ancient instincts and love of Earth, we really are screwed, and not in a way we think.
