I just reread "Siddartha" after 20 years. And you know what? For the most part, it *did* hold up. Some passages made me cringe, but others radiated that same nova-star love & insight. Nothing like returning to some texts that become holy for us over time. Recommendations?
So interesting! When I reread it as an adult after being in love with the book as a teen and being greatly emotionally and philosophically influenced by it, I found it very naive and pompous. Which is not to say that either reaction is good or bad, just an interesting contrast.
