I think I understand where you are coming from but I disagree with you passionately. Do you know of any community that has solved their problems by banning certain emotions or topics? It only makes the collective trauma worse by hiding it.

Germany has done a somewhat decent job keeping Nazis under control. (I don't think we should ban just any topic, but some, like Holocaust denial and the worship of mass atrocities, *should* be banned) And yes, they could be doing a better job.

Well see, here's where it gets murky b/c language can be used to tag absolutely anything as absolutely anything (and it is). We could say, for instance, that U.S. foreign policy (that enjoys bi-partisan support) has killed millions of people. Whom do we cancel?
