Resolving problems in earnest requires sincerity and conversations in which people can agree to disagree. Yes, some people are rude and selfish. In fact, the American pop culture is pretty rude and entitled (I say as an immigrant), and it comes out regardless of the ideology.

Bottom line, we can strive for dignity and social security for all instead of fighting with each other for crumbs from the table of the 0.0001% and impulsively hating our fellows who are not currently humiliated. Speaking one's mind and being right or wrong is normal.

And if anyone is being hypocritical and pretending to support total freedom of expression while not accepting it from own opponents, it's a different problem that should not be conflated with foundational premise of every human being deserving dignity.
