"In their quest for telling a compelling story, scientists too often sculpt data to fit their preferred theory of the world. Or they retrofit hypotheses to fit their data." This, again, is coming from the editor-in-chief of a very prestigious journal. Honesty is honorable.
I grew up around medical research, so I've been aware since childhood that important people often say in papers what's best for their career but do the opposite of what they say when they personally have a health problem.
