I’m going to be on a tech ethics panel that critically interrogates what the concept/ideal/practice can even means in light of all the criticism. And so... Question: Given widespread austerity measures & increasing dependence on big tech during the pandemic, what’s possible?
What's on my mind is the importance of redefining the very foundation of not just what's possible but of what's needed. Tech solutionism is afraid of existential vulnerability and human subjectivity, and it wants to remove them from life. That's impossible and dull.
