A thousand times yes, and very important. I'm saying it as someone whose family member was at a NYC hospital with a critical condition last year (b4 the pandemic). By "scary" I mean nurses routinely breaking basic rules of hygiene, new equipment not working properly, a doctor on duty (a wonderful human being, btw) not knowing how to turn on a heart monitor, new nurses unaware of severity of condition, etc.
I was terrified to look away for a second. And that was during peaceful times! I can't even imagine what's happening there now, given all the difficulties. My heart breaks when I think of all the people who were deprived of being protected by family and who maybe could live.
