Most strikingly, the NYT is failing to emphasize the elephant in the room, namely the fact that African nations are actually doing much better compared to the U.S. and other developed countries. Maybe the world will be a better place if the "developed word" starts learning from the "developing" nations instead of blindly assuming that we have better systems (and everything)? Maybe we don't have better systems? Maybe if we get curious, our lives will improve, too?
