Another thing I'm indignant about is the hijacking of the word "science" for emotional stimulation. Science is power. It means looking at data in the physical world—regardless of the data's loyalty to the establishment and political affiliations—and being honest about results.
I feel so strongly about using language for clarity and honest problem-solving (as opposed to obfuscation) because, for one, language is something very important to me, and for two, the result of obfuscation is suffering, and it is neither fictitious nor insignificant.
