For a second, I got into my "once upon a time I lived in a different country" mind, and suddenly, the debate over where people should have access to free healthcare feels insane. Like, isn't it normal to have access to free healthcare? Like, how is it something to argue about?

It sounds cool .. but I hear there is a lot of draw backs like wait times. Plus with the competitive atmosphere the US has I think we have better docs cause of it I could be wrong. So I’m open to new information
Agreed, it's complex. In my experience, people would likely receive more pleasant and attentive service when it's not free (logical) but having no free access at all is actually not normal, while I think about it with a "once upon a time I lived in a different country" mind.

Tbh if the government just regulates healthcare and price gouging and underpayment of the insurance company.. aIV is $8 + labor.. so IV is charged $150 because insurance will pay half that. now some one with no insurance has to pay full price it’s unfair and needs

Implementation is another story. I believe that cost structures in American healthcare are tilted, and a lot goes toward administrative. What's mind-blowing though is philosophical opposition to letting poor people have access to good medicine in the richest country in the world.
