As long as the biggest demand of the citizens is that their egos are fed, leaders will find linguistic tricks to gain followers and feed their constituents' egos by stealing dignity from someone else, without solving problems.

Which is why I think that in the long run, good politics start with individual soul searching. Work, you know. Not glamorous at all. No retweets as you do it. Because it is much harder for pundits and politicians alike to trick people whose souls are at peace.
