Even when I strongly disagree with someone’s speech and find it vile, as I do with Amy Wax, I am strongly against contacting their institution to get them fired for it. This is a very dangerous step for academics in an age of authoritarians. It violates core values.
I, for one, had no idea about who she was up until this second. Her opinions are awful, based on a cursory glance. I wish I didn't look. But the trend of getting people fired for opinions is indeed totalitarian. Then again, we ARE in a totalitarian society, only with digital toys
