Can you imagine how many analysts will be out of work if people choose to focus on the happenings in their immediate physical world? The endless stream of emotionally addictive noise we are subjected to every second, is a way to pay noise generators. We are a noise economy.

I’m not quite sure we are broke so much as ailing in our current environment in which the algorithmic ecosystem is pummeling us left and right.

I think it's both! The algorithmic ecosystem is amplifying what we already have—and makes it obvious that what we have is rather flawed. The algorithm puts the "all for me, none for you" principle straight in our faces. The technology is new but the sentiment is rather old.
