And sure, the existential scam is super easy to fix on a personal level by buying only what you need and paying no attention to labels. I would very much love to live in an actual free market where marketing doesn't imply confusing people, and competition is on quality.

Also, I am using the word "wearables" in its original meaning, i.e. "things we wear." Clothes, shoes, and what not. Although it is still a bit of a horrible word.

To add to the list of scams, there is another big one where people in tech claim that b/c there is an old existential discrepancy somewhere underneath, we should abolish IP—not their IP, mind you (!!) but everybody else's). They use an aspect of truth as a cover-up for a lie!
