Turning people into symbols is a horrible approach. Getting inspired by others is powerful, but turning people into walking hashtags is dangerous because it turns everybody into a parrot.

Needless to say, anybody holding any sort of unjust power is super happy whenever real, warm, multifaceted human beings whose mere aliveness endangers the machine, are neutralized by turning that very aliveness into talking points. At which point the truth is dead.
