My two cents: It is tempting to focus on concepts like "freedom of speech." But what is happening underneath is replacing context with algorithm, and that is an underlying issue in so so many cases. As a civilization, we have been in denial of it for millennia, and we can theorize all day and write books and deliver speeches – but as long as we play a game in which each issue is its own theoretical beast – and ignore the root of the problem, we are walking in circles.
