The point is that this map cuts Asia in half, the ones you posted do not cut any major area..

If the purpose is to help school kids understand where the rest of the world is in relation to where they are, it’s not really that bad an idea. Anywhere you put the cut is pretty arbitrary anyway.

Well, the usual view of the world map (centered on Europe) puts the cut roughly about where the time zones wrap around (from GMT+12 to GMT-12). Not actually that arbitrary IMO (unles you consider GMT-based time zones themselves to be arbitrary, which would be a fair point).
