I remember when my brother and I were both IT administrators and we used to host LAN parties, with our friends, playing Co-op Doom and Quake, at each others' place of work because we both ran high speed networks. Always used dummy terminals and had separate builds for the game.

I used to play that and Quake with only a keyboard. It was so hard to finally start using a mouse for FPS games.

The beginning of my career in IT support was maintaining the two PCs in an otherwise Mac-dominated classroom lab specifically so that we could all spend lunch hours and after school fragging each other over a SERIAL CABLE in Doom 2. Sweet, sweet memories. A simpler time.
