I'll go out on not much of a limb and guess he has. It's historical sections are either decent but unremarkable (the music column, for instance) or pretty awful (the economics column, which was actually by a sociologist). The poetry was fine.

But the book has lots of essays by professional historians. And frankly, I think it is cruel to mock Black people for loving popular history that no one my age was allowed to learn in school.
