We've started temporarily blocking a number of sites that are hosting footage of Friday’s terrorist attack in Christchurch. We understand this may inconvenience some legitimate users of these sites, but these are extreme circumstances and we feel this is the right thing to do.
Update: We’ve unblocked access to a number of sites that have removed footage of the attack and who are moderating new uploads. We’ll continue to unblock sites as we’re notified. Major social networks are proactively moderating uploads and were therefore not blocked.
Well done Telstra. We don’t need hate propagated online.
