She was a child. She did as she was told, her parents or carers did her worrying. What utter bullshit.

So? My grandmother was a child during WW2, she also lived in an occupied country. She could remember her primary school being raided by Nazis, listening to bombs dropping whilst hiding in a shelter, her evacuation (etc) until the day she died.

Um, going into shelters was following advice too. And if you didn't black out your windows, you put all your neighbours at risk.

The reason that Maureen is still alive is that someone in govt wrote rules and regulations that she & others followed - blackout, air raid precautions, gas masks, public sirens, rationing, conscription etc. If those in 39-45 had said "I don't give a sod", our side would've lost.

My dad is 80 and he was evacuated to rural Dorset With his Mum and siblings. He didn’t really see his father for 5 years. Huge sacrifices were made.

She was 3 during the Blitz and she went back to work. Wasnt child labour made illegal in the 19th century?

They also actually fought for social justice. To make the country more equal. More fair. What’s happened to that? Oh yeah I’m forgetting the blackmarket. Can we have that back too?
