    5G is important--but I can't understand why there's not more discussion of this: 5G frequencies will interfere w/ remote sensing of water vapor (23.8 GHz), other atmospheric elements. Interference could regress weather forecasting capabilities by 40 YEARS.

    The Science of Hitting is a book that’s supposedly about a very specific pursuit but ends up being full of more lessons about life/business/relationships than about hitting a baseball. Ted Williams: HOFer, volunteer combat pilot in 2 wars (mid-career!) & investment guru? Not bad

    This is one of my favorite Warren Buffett ideas. 1) Work in a no-strike business. 2) Wait for fat pitches. 3) Then swing for the fences.

    VC firms that don’t empower their associates to drive/champion deals internally are doing themselves and founders a disservice

    Associates: never respond to them. Ever. No offense to associates, we built a double-digit million ARR business with SDRs, so I get it ;). But speaking with an associate is, per above, worse than cold emailing the partner.

    Matt takes a bird’s-eye view on the question of who’s *really* spending/making money in synbio. Answer seems to be... not many people/cos, esp. early-stage. Capital is concentrated in the giants like Ginkgo, the tech fundamentals need more depth and outcomes are still murky
