https://amazon If you own the TLD, you can put content at the bare TLD. When you put "amazon" in your search/url bar, it will have to go straight to amazon rather than search it (assuming we still infer http[s]:// anyway)

Vanity. giveallyourmoneytojeffbezosfrom.amazon is clearer and more memorable. Without jest: I literally think those companies have too much money and a TLD is a valuable asset that you just want to control because of a power move.
