"Many in the media and in politics are unwilling to label attacks driven by misogynistic ideology as terrorism … But misogyny is not mental illness; it’s hate.”http://www.wehuntedthemammoth.com/2018/04/24/incels-hail-toronto-van-driver-who-killed-10-as-a-new-elliot-rodger-talk-of-future-acid-attacks-and-mass-rapes/ …

Absolutely. Also, these types of attacks are like domestic abuse on a community scale: "if only women would have sex with me, I wouldn't have to do this. So blame them."
-
That was literally Elliott Rodger's manifesto, if you'll recall. I'm not sure what the solution is. This is very much a men's issue. An ounce of prevention could help keep people away from these communities, but how do we turn those already inside around?

This is wishful thinking, but law enforcement could treat all online hate forums, esp. the ones urging violence, the way they treat Islamic radicalization orgs. Enough with the "mentally ill lone wolf" excuses. Incels themselves admit they have an agenda.

And I think media has a role to play. The speed at which news is expected to develop now is, frankly, ridiculous and I think we could all benefit from some patience and caution.
