    Is anyone recording/archiving daily radio wave activity? I'm not talking about specific freqs - I'm talking about recording the entire frequency spectrum, so you can play it back as if it were happening live. I think about this a lot.

    By prefixing each line of lyrics with a hash of the artists name, i can now prompt the model with a specific artists hash and get back a song in their style. I overthought this a lot before realizing how easy the solution was.

    I've been fine-tuning on a selection of song lyrics I curated. After a lot of iterative tinkering (formatting mostly), it's producing weirdly coherent results. This is using a 9mb corpus after only 2k epochs:

    Part of the problem with "public social networks" is that they're all turning into marketplaces, promotional or performative networks. There's a longing for a third space, a little world that sweeps you away from promotions, ads, brand-builders--to where the real people are.

    Before words start meaning too much, we’ve gotta remember that any meaning we derive from them is purely hallucinatory. There’s no base of meaning to fall back on. No secret architecture that demands to be uncovered like there is with numbers - language is just a game we play.

    Forests need humans to survive. They died when we left them. We are forest animals too, no different than beavers or bears.

    Indigenous peoples managed forests for thousands of years, using controlled burns etc. Settlers have really weird notions about "untouched nature" that always include us, not really doing much with our environment "like animals". Except animals manage their environments too...

    We are headed towards avatar based social networks. People will cycle through identities, blurring form and physicality. This will probably not be good.
