Two nights ago, my arm was hurting. A couple of hours ago, my leg started hurting. Now my back is hurting. I guess I should be glad that my body parts are taking turns instead of all hurting at once?

One thing I completely forgot about while working from home are how uncomfortable dress socks are. I'm so used to wearing comfy socks & no shoes (or no socks if I feel like it) that wearing dress socks & dress shoes felt super restrictive! Yet another bonus for working from home.
I made a COVID Rewind web app. It pulls current & historical COVID-19 stats for the US & shows what day you'd need to "rewind" back to for them to be that low. Let me know what you think. covidrewind.techydad.com (The SSL cert isn't 100% working yet, but should be by tomorrow.)
"We're scrapping the unit" is a lot different than "we're scrapping the unit and sending you payment." So I'm satisfied with the outcome, but it looks like needs to better train some of their customer service representatives. (2/2)

Update on the situation: I called once a manager didn't call me back. The customer service rep I spoke with had a much better grasp of the situation than the last one. Yes, the portable AC is being scrapped, but they're sending reimbursement for the unit's cost. (1/2)

I'm supposed to get a manager calling me today or tomorrow about the year old portable AC unit that broke and that they're refusing to replace but won't tell me why. (Full story: twitter.com/TechyDad/statu ) Bets on whether I get a callback today or any callback at all?

I've been quiet about something I'm dealing with, hoping the company will make it right, but no longer. Last year, I bought a portable @Frigidaire air conditioner for my upstairs room. It worked nicely all summer and got put away for the winter. (1/8)

Addendum: Here's my currently unusable portable AC unit w/ power cord cut off like I was instructed to. Apparently, Frigidaire thinks 1yr old devices are just junk to be trashed & I should just spend $400+ on a new unit. If I do buy a new one, it won't be from them!

I asked for a manager & was put on a list to be called back in 24-48 hrs. Bets on whether that happens? Either way, I'm very unhappy w/ . I'm in the market for a new dishwasher (not to mention a portable AC unit). Guess which brand I WON'T be considering? (8/8)

They're also refusing the fix the power cord that I sliced off as per 's instructions. The reason for the scrapping? There is none. They don't have any reason. So now I have a $400+ machine that lasted a year and is now trash as far as Frigidaire is concerned. (7/8)

When I pushed back on that (not wanting to work in the hot room for a week only to be told I need to wait ANOTHER 7-10 business days), I was told that actually the machine was scrapped on May 24th. So decided they're not replacing it. (6/8)

Last week, I called and was told to wait the full time. Today is the 10th business day. I called back and was told that they didn't have my paperwork. Then, I was told that the replacement was likely on its way and to wait until the end of the week. (5/8)

I was told to fill out some forms and cut off the end of the power cord. I was hesitant to do the latter, but was reassured that would fix the power cord if they denied the replacement. Then, I needed to wait 7-10 business days to get my answer (3/8)

When the weather got warm again, I took it out again, but quickly noticed that there was an issue. It was blowing air, but not cooling the air down. I called to see about getting the one year old machine replaced. (2/8)

In summary, watch your credit card statements carefully & don't trust what's in your email inbox. Also, businesses: check your web forms to make sure they work. If I was considering paying for Secure VPN & noticed the "support form" didn't work, I'd use another company. (4/4)

There's an actual company called Secure VPN, though, so I figured I'd notify them. Except the only way to notify them is via a web form. And that wen form insists that my email address isn't valid despite the fact that I've typed it in properly! (3/4)

So it's a phishing email. The sender is hoping I'll call to cancel this charge. Then, they'll ask for my credit card information and/or personal information to "cancel" the charge - but really to steal my identity and/or charge things in my name. (2/4)

Got an email saying my payment of $421 for Secure VPN went through. Except I never paid for any such service. Checked my credit cards and no payment from any suspicious source is on them - much less for hundreds of dollars. (1/4)

So much wrong with this. I'm on the spectrum. Going into a large group of people who are breaking the rules & threatening people's lives is hell on Earth for me, not something I'd do because I'm on the spectrum. I'd really like to see 's take.

The guy says that he has "unlimited money" & will keep buying Teslas if they're impounded. What penalties does he risk by repeating this? Can he just keep buying new Teslas/repeating his crime? Or can a judge decide to toss him into jail & throw away the key? (2/2)
