There definitely seems to be some shady dealings, especially the USOC approaching the investigating agent with a job proposal, but I'm not sure the allegation the FBI "allowed him" to continue in his job is completely accurate. (more)
It is not clear to me that the FBI would (or should) have the authority to force the subject of any investigation from their job. It is also not clear to me the conditions under which is it appropriate for the FBI to inform a person's employer about an investigation. (cont)
