Can someone please explain ER vs A to a foreigner? I don't see the difference tbh. Like if I called someone on the street a motherfuckA vs. motherfuckER I'm pretty sure I'd get whacked either way, so how come that rule doesn't apply here?

So if it ends with A it's mostly used like if you said dude or man. A lot of people say it but also a lot of people dont like it also. Now the er is rarely used and is mostly used as an insult and is rarelt ever used positively

Yeah I get how they're used, what I don't get is how slightly changing pronunciation of the final syllable of a word produces a word with completely different meaning (see example above)
