Last thing I’ll say about Genesis. If you’re arguing on behalf of Oakland, it’s prob not a good idea to tell some people with genuine concerns who actually got robbed, that they’re just pussies and racists. Being at risk of frequent crime is a very valid worry.
They don’t necessarily need to move the venue (though it would be optimal) but maybe investing a bit on more security! Or give out warnings and advice like where you can park safely, its not impossible and i would rather pay a bit more to be safe than pay (1/2)
a whole lot more bc my car window is broken, and its just really insensitive imo to see locals defend the area when they’re prob used to it. Being used to it doesn’t make it any less dangerous. Nonlocals will prob not even think about what to do when a crime is taking place (2/2)
Lol genesis aint fading away, I'm sorry your car got broken into but the area was super nice and not dangerous at all. Honestly I haven't been since it was in san jose and I was blown away by how much better the area around the venue was for walking around, so much more to do.
