16yr olds shouldn’t be an activist for anything. They should be getting their homework done and enjoying their childhood. Anyone that becomes an activist at a young age has been taught to fear. Teaching fear to kids before they’re even adults is mental abuse/manipulation.

The narrative becomes, “Our side wants to save the Earth. And if you disagree with our methods, you not only want us to go extinct, but you hate children too!” Pretty suspect tactic to pivot away from the discussion and forces more of a volatile emotional response.

There’s a reason 16yr olds can’t vote. There’s a difference between being politically conscious and standing in front of the UN while heading a global campaign. “You stole my childhood!” No sweetie...the people that convinced you to be a poster girl did that.

Counter point: Greta Thunberg just listened to reasonable estimates from scientists about what's going to happen if we don't do anything about global warming and decided to do something about it?? Even if it's the LiBtArDs telling her to do that, is it bad in the long run?
